Like many things in the life of a fourth grader, Zachary’s movie started as a dispute with his parents. He told them that he wanted to start packing his own lunch, but they were skeptical. Lunch is free at his school, P.S. 130 Hernando De Soto in Little Italy, and his parents liked the look of the Department of Education’s online menus, which describe delicious meals, full of whole grains and fresh vegetables, some even designed by celebrity chefs.

In the film, Zachary, who is not above cheesy costumes and goofy special effects, makes a point that is under the radar of most conversations about the quality of school lunches: that despite the Education Department’s efforts to improve nutrition, there is a disconnect between the wholesome meals described on school menus and the soggy, deep-fried nuggets frequently dished up in the lunchrooms.

Thatcher’s death made me remember about the death of another polarizing figure, Reagan, back in 04. I was around 15 and my dad, as Reagan’s ceremony was playing on TV, told me how he was a good man that helped Nicaragua. I knew little of its history at the time aside from my father’s stories so I just went, “Oh… k?” Though even then I sorta smelled some faint bullshit.

So when I educated myself later on, and recalled what he said -

I’m sure there’ll be similar incidents in many households throughout Southern England today.

Homeless mother who sent six-year-old son to better school in the wrong town jailed for five years

A mother who pleaded guilty to fraudulently enrolling her six-year-old son in the wrong school district has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Tonya McDowell sent her son to an elementary school in Norwalk, Connecticut, instead of her home city of Bridgeport.

The 34-year-old, who was homeless when she was charged with felony larceny last year, said she wanted the best education possible for the boy.

Where are all the people talking about justice is blind? Cause I fail to see how this warrants five fucking years in prison. There are violent crimes people have committed and gotten a lesser sentence. But let’s remember Tonya McDowell is a poor WoC, so she’s gonna get shit on either way.

My parents found white people in better neighborhoods to give false addresses so I could go to schools. I moved schools often, and I was not allowed to have friends or invite people over, for fear something liket this would happen.

I’ve seen this reblogged on my dash a few times and all instances have not mentioned that the prison sentence was also for selling narcotics, not just for sending her son to a different school district. I don’t agree that five years is deserved for her, but it’s really manipulative to deliberately omit that piece of info from the article. Good job SJWs.

Adam Carolla had a disagreement with Gavin Newsom on his radio show. On the topic of economic inequality and poverty, Newsom said that about 50% of black and latino families didn’t have access to a checking account. “What’s wrong with them?” asked Carolla repeatedly. You all will talk about African-Americans, Latinos, and Asian-Americans all day long but at soon as it comes time to say white peoples’ voices drop. You ain’t have seen that? Come on man, people come up with crazy terms you have never seen before, they would be like: “And that Caucasoid…” You can always tell, you could always tell where the supreme power rests in the society because of the reluctance people have in naming that power.

Part of what privilege requires, guys privilege cannot operate without silence. It cannot operate without silence, and this tremendous silence around whiteness, if you are foolish enough to post a blog on your Facebook that mentions whiteness the amount of attacks that you will get, because privilege defends itself viciously, to maintain the silence that is required for its operation.

So, given this I would argue that the other thing that we need to do is coming off of James Scott’s idea of “anarchist calisthenics,” we need to practice racial anarchist calisthenics. What he, what Scott meant by anarchist calisthenics is that this society has ton of little rules that we all practice without thinking. And he argues that we need to practice breaking little rules consistently because one day this society is going to ask you to prosecute a horrifying rule, that I think we will long live to regret, and the muscles of resistance needs to be exercised, they need to be prepared for the time we need to make that big, big, big, big stand.

And so racial anarchist calisthenics, I would say, begins with all of us getting that tongue muscle back in to place and saying Saurons name. I challenge people; I challenge people every time you say African-American, Asian-American, whatever the group count it and say white just as much. And say white just as much. We don’t do it you guys, we don’t do it, we don’t do it. And yet if we were ever going to confront in a real way white supremacy, which is not only linked to white folks you guys. White supremacy is the racial order in all of us, but if we are not able to discuss whiteness as a category, as a critical way of looking at the world and even simply as just the racial group, we are in some serious trouble. The reality is even if we took every white person on Earth and put them on a space ship and sent them to outer space white supremacy wouldn’t miss a beat.
